Cause:
A possible cause of this error is the Web Filtering driver which may be incompatible with software, antivirus, or 3rd party SSL Certificates that are installed on your PC. The Web Filtering driver is installed on your PC when Webmails monitoring is enabled in the “Emails” section of the monitoring profile. Also, it is installed if you have enabled any "Behavior Rule" that blocks access to websites.
Solution:
Monitoring Profiles:
When Webmails monitoring is enabled in the “Emails” section of the monitoring profile.
To disable Webmail Monitoring:
- Navigate to the “System” - “Monitoring Profiles” tab located on the left side of your Dashboard.
- Click on the name of the monitoring profile that is being used for monitoring the needed user to start editing it.
- Find the “Emails” tab, and make sure that the checkbox next to “Webmail monitoring” is not checked.
- You may also disable the monitoring of “Emails” entirely by unchecking the checkbox next to “Emails.”
Also, you may exempt specific websites from being intercepted by the web filtering driver by using the SSL exceptions list:
- Navigate to SYSTEM - Monitoring Profiles - {monitoring profile} - Web filter
- Under the SSL exceptions list, please specify the URL of the website that is showing the SSL Certificate error (e.g. *mail.google.com*)
Behavior Rules:
When an enabled “Behavior Rule” is set to block access to certain or all websites.
To disable such rules, please follow these simple steps:
- Navigate to the “Behavior” - “Rules” tab located on the left-handed side of your Dashboard.
- Select the rules which have “Visit website” under the “EVENT” column, as well as "Block" under the "Action" column.
- Click on the orange “ACTIONS” button, and select “Disable” from the dropdown list.
After following the above steps, you can check whether the web filtering driver is switched off or not by following these instructions:
- Navigate to the Dbg folder located in the client folder: C:\ProgramData\{E0E95C6C-F194-4846-928D-E5538022226D}\Dbg\
- Find the latest weMonLog_XXXX.txt file and open it. (Sort by last modified and it should be on the top of the list)
- You should be able to find the string WF OFF if the web filtering driver has been removed successfully. (Otherwise it will be WF ON)
